Another blog on healthy habits- what a novel idea! Yes, I know, there are tons of new blogs, Facebook pages and websites dedicated to this very idea but my “why” is my own.

The last 3 years have been difficult to say the least…and although loosing a parent, a dog and a marriage left an unsightly scar, I gained a much better perspective on who I am and most importantly of who I am yet to become.

As a registered nurse and a diabetic educator I spend a lot of time counseling women on how to eat healthy, and yet I had a hard time taking my own advice. I felt emotionally drained and justified not to give a rats behind about my own health. This blog is about accountability, discipline and putting myself first on my “to do” list. It is about sharing the good, the bad and the ugly of not breaking promises to myself.  Now if I get a six pack and buns of steel in the process,  I will not complain, it is a risk I am willing to take :).

Although the primary goal here is to keep me accountable, I do hope that if someone out there reads this, they find some comfort knowing they are not alone…the struggle is real.
